Chub Cay Clubhouse

Chub Cay, Bahamas

Chub Cay, a small island in the Bahamas, underwent a major renovation and enhancement in 2005. Under private ownership, the Chub Cay Club created a private resort and marina which features a 3-story club house. The club house was constructed using a structural steel frame, composite beam steel floors, braced frame lateral supports, and metal stud façade and roof framing.

Attention to detail and an extensive shop drawing coordination and review process was required to ensure the material shipped to the island from the states was properly detailed for on-site assembly. Once the material was fabricated, containers were used to ship all the steel to the site. The majority of the connections are field bolted thus allowing crews the simplest means to erect the steel frame. Included in the steel package is a 40 foot diameter steel umbrella for the pool side bar.
